The 53 match between Kolkata Knightriders vs Rajasthan Royals Live Streaming will be played on 17 April 2010 at Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore.
Pitch report: It is going to be batsmen friendly early on, with ball coming on to the bat, however going to get slow as the match progresses.
Peculiar statistics:Its the calculations time of the tournaments, calculators out to see which team goes through now.
Kolkata Knightriders: The team that has not been able to change its fortunes in any of the three seasons, Kolkata Knightriders. Its a pity that a team that has such fan following, that the spectators get crazy in Kolkata, they have been unable to produce any inspiring performance as such. But with the last two matches still to be played, they are tactically not out of the tournament as yet, provided they win both the matches. KKR has done complete revamp of the team, of the support staff, anticipating that the things improve, if not the title, they can atleast reach the semifinals, however that has not happened.
KKR has never had the dearth of talent, its only those crucial times in the matches that they have been losing the match out. They need to get a little more confident of themselves, need to start believing that they can win. Batting unit, which has failed more than it has delivered would look to Saurav again to provide the kind of inspiration for them to start.
Chris Gayle and Brendon Mccullum need to stop thrashing everything out of park and start delievering. Even after Wasim Akram is made the bowling coach, the bowling is a worry. They need to find a place for Shane Bond as the strike bowler. Going to be uphill task for them to beat RR.
Rajasthan Royals: Gritty, determined and aggressive thats what Rajasthan Royals team is however they have been outplayed this time in the IPL 3. With Mumbai Indians defeating them comprehensively in the last match, Rajasthan Royals still have an outside chance to make it to the semi finals, however they require to win both the next matches to do that and that too with a big margin. Royals have played very inconsistently in this season which has marred their chances of making a cut to semis.
Their over dependence on Yusuf Pathan, the injuries to Mascarenhas and Graeme Smith also have proved to be costly. With Michael Lumb in the team, it provided a bit of security at the top of the order, but then the middle order and tail have looked so out of form, that it has been difficult for them to even chase small totals once Pathan gets out. Bowling of Royals have not been upto the mark as well. With the Sheikh of Tweak not really leaving any impact on the batsmen. But then Shane Warn being the magician, can infuse motivation in this young team and if they play to their potential, can give all these teams, a run for their money.
Last 5 match win/lose streak:
KKR: L,L,W,L,W
RR: L,L,W,W,L
Players to watch out for:
Shane Watson: Joined the squad so late, due to his international commitments, however ever since he has come back, RR seem to be a different side. With the kind of experience he has and wide range of variety and flexibility he provides to the team is amazing. Will be giving his best shot.
Shane Warne: Will gve his best too as whenever they have been pushed to the wall, they have triumphed. Wane with all the tricks up his sleeve, will be raring to go and win the next two matches and make a cut for semifinals.
Chris Gayle: The Jamaican needs to start playing with more responsibility. His best is yet to come and we know that his demolishing act can demoralise a team very easily. He has to have a belief in himself and play his natural game and not try and hoick every ball out of the park.
Shane Bond: With his experience in ICL, Bond would have been an ideal choice for opening the bowling, instead, KKR seem to have no confidence in him right now. Bond needs to start opening the bowling which would leave no stone unturned and might give KKR an outside chance to make it to semis.
