Delhi Daredevils vs Banglaore Royal Challengers – IPL 2010 – Match 35th
Pitch : Belter! Since the ban of International matches Kotla curators prepared flat batting paradise tracks. Since the boundaries are small, excess of 200 is more likely to come.
stats
DD: The team is in form. Playing like they are meant for. Devils have to play RCB this time. A fight for the 2nd place on the points table. They have already beaten BRC in their back yard. This time they are playing in their own den.
Bowling is not that strong, so they would prefer to chase as BRC is too good in chasing big totals. Any score under 200 is achievable for them, simply because of the batting line they have. A win here would get the closer to the semifinal seat.
BRC: Emerged as one of the strongest side of the tournament. After losing back to back matches they thrashed KXIP on Friday. It will be a good contest as they are going to face the team who has already beaten them in the current season.
Batting is too strong and like Delhi they too want to chase the total. Their last year hero is back too. Yes Ross Taylor is back and it would be interesting to see whom they replace for him.
Winning and loosing streak
DD: W,W,W,L,L
RR W,L,L,W,W
Players
David Warner: This little fellow been in great form. If he stays on wicket till the 15th over, the chance would go up for DD to win the match. Sehwag never had a partner like Warner in the past who could match his power hitting. Surely he is the trump player for the DD on the current form.
Amit Mishra: Wants to prove a point to the selectors. Has already taken 11 wickets (second only to great Murlidharan) in current season. Still selectors ignored him for World Cup T-20 squad. He is really a wicket taking bowler and his googly is still a mystery for most of the batsmen.
Ross Taylor: The demolisher is back in the team. Already played a T-20 knock in test cricket against the Australian at Wellington last week. He would definitely powers the already strong middle order of the BRC. Morgan is likely to be dropped for him. Short boundaries and weak bowling line up of DD, Taylor must be raring to go and blast.
Anil Kumble: This was the ground that helped him to be selected for Indian team ahead of Maninder Singh in 1992 when he took 7 wickets against the Delhi in Ranji game. This is Jumbo’s second home. He took 10 wickets in an inning on this same ground. He retired from international cricket from the same ground. Veeru and Co., you better watch guys. Jumbo is here.
Battles to watch out for:
Taylor vs Mahroof
Uthappa vs Mishra
Gambhir vs Kumble
Warner vs Styen
