Mumbai Indians to qualify for the semis ?
Mumbai Indians : While most news channels and commentators declared that Mumbai Indians have qualified for the semis, the truth is they are not yet sure of the semifinal berth. I seriously don’t understand how tournament organisers can proclaim such misleading Statements. Though the chance of MI not reaching the semis is less, still it cannot be ruled out all.
Consider MI getting stuck on 16 points (they lose all the remaining three matches) and then consider the rest of the matches
April 12: Deccan Chargers vs Royal Challengers – Nagpur RCB wins this match and they will be on 14 points
April 13: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils – Brabourne DD wins this match and they will be on 14 points
April 13: Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Chennai CSK wins this match and they will be on 12 points
A pril 14: Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers – Jaipur, RR wins this match and they will be on 14 points
April 15: Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils – Chennai CSK wins this match and they will be on 14 points
April 16: Kings XI Punjab vs Deccan Chargers – Mohali DC wins this match and they will be on 12 points
April 17: Royal Challengers vs Mumbai Indians – Bangalore RCB wins this match and they will be on 16 points
April 17: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals – Kolkata RR wins this match and they will be on 16 points
April 18: Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings– Mohali CSK wins this match and they will be on 16 points
April 18: Delhi Daredevils vs Deccan ChargersDelhi – DD wins this match and they will be on 16 points
April 19: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians – Kolkata KKR wins the match and MI will still remain in 16 points
Then Mumbai still might not get qualified for last four, if there run rate is below all other four teams with 16 pts (though the current run rate is good, losing 3 consecutive matches will bring it down and if the margins are high, then MI getting disqualified cannot be ruled out, and all the assumptions made are probable)
This is the only possibility of Mumbai Indians getting ruled out
